Date: April 7th, 2004 - 5:45pm.
Tested on: Unreal Tournament 2004.
Construction time: One Week.
Works with: Unreal Tournament 2004 ONLY.
Pack information: 15 Acknowledgements, 10 Friendly Fires, 48 Taunts. Orders,
too.
To those who don't like voicepacks: Don't worry about it. I just like to have
fun. :)
Description: I'm very happy with this voicepack, and I believe it's the best one I've ever made (and I've made quite a few). When I asked the Beyondunreal Community for voicepack ideas, the most requested pack would have to be this one - Dr. Zoidberg from Futurama. Some of the taunts and orders in this pack are absolutely hilarious, and I've had a lot of fun making, testing and playing UT2004 with El Zoido.
How to Install: Unzip all files and place the DrZoidberg.U and Dr.Zoidberg.int
files into your UT2004\System foler. THAT'S IT! Now, select the name of the
voice from the drop-down voice menu in the game once you've chosen your character.
And yes, you can do this with bots, too. Just hit 'Edit' and then change the
voice in the menu. :)
Online Play: To use this voicepack in online games, the server you're playing
on must have the voicepack installed.
In order to do this, the server administrator must:
I) Put the necessary files into the UT2004 System folder (the 'U' and 'INT'
files).
II) Edit the UT2004.ini file to include the new package(s). IE: add ServerPackages=DrZoidberg
under the [Engine.GameEngine] section of the UT2004.ini file.
III) Restart the server.
Online Play Note: Certain people have informed me that they're having trouble
using their voicepacks online, due to conflictions with the anti cheating patches
that have been released. Some servers seem to accept the packs, and other don't.
I don't really have an answer to this, I'm afraid. Just be careful not to select
your voicepack for online use unless you know for certain that the server you're
playing on has it installed. If you ignore this warning, you may be accused
of "cheating" by certain servers. Just be careful, okay?
Additional Credits: [ZDB]Stoerenfried for his other excellent Futurama voicepacks
- which inspired me. Some of the samples from this pack are taken from Stoerenfried's
original Zoidberg voicepack (for UT99), but the majority of the sounds were
gathered and edited by myself. The pack was made from scratch, though. :)
Final Note: If you voicepack wizards want to open up this pack and edit it with
Unreal Ed 3.0, go ahead. There's quite a few samples in the U file that I didn't
use, probably because I didn't think they were appropriate for UT2004.
Distribution: Feel free to distribute this file in whatever way you like, as long as this readme file is included - unaltered.
Thanks for reading, and have a nice day. ~Rainecloud.
