Extended Description

In ancient days, a devout people built a temple to their water-god, Kuzumshiah. There, their religion flourished for centuries. They were eventually driven out by barbarians, and the land lay empty and forgotton for years. It was rediscovered following the industrial revolution when a small group of cultists fled from society. In this secluded valley once dedicated to Kuzumshiah, they built a refuge their own. It was dedicated to the concept of power, embodied in iron and in fire. Being a relatively small group, they died off in a mere three generations, once again leaving the valley vacant. After Liandri's rise, it began sending scouts all over the world to find new arenas for it's ever popular blood sport. A scout named Kraleth was fortunate enough to unearth this find. Regrettably, the condition of the cultist's compound, and especially the temple of Kuzumshiah, was so decrepit that the clean-up/conversion phase of Liandri's acquisition kept their new arena unused for several years. They have just finally completed their renovations, which include some new underground architecture, and the time has come for project "Vow" to come to light.

Author's Notes

This was my first serious attempt at terrain. My only prior use of the terrain brush was to create a rock wall in a prior map. Furthermore, this was also my first attempt at day-time lighting out-doors. Previously all out-side lighting was overcast. This is my first completed CTF, all my over maps having been DM or DOM, with a thankfully junked CTF attempt.

The map plays better under a heavier player load than most do. The lower end of the range I gave is the minimum to have some action going on. Closer to 16 players will more fully make use of the layout. Polys and framerates should be slightly better than average while indoors. However, the poly count nearly reaches 200 while outdoors. This is especially true for those in the sniper nest before zooming.
