I. Introduction
WORM, the Weapon/Object Replacement
Mutator allows you to replace any default UT weapon or pickup
with (almost) any weapon or pickup from (almost) any UT
modification. This brings many new possibilities into UT, such as
a match using ChaosUT's Proxies and Sword, and U4eT's DollBomb
and Zapper, and a few NextGen weapons along with a couple from
Weapons Factory all in the same match!
II. Installation
- Unzip the following files into your
UnrealTournament\system directory:
- WORMreplacer.u
- WORMmenu.u
- WormReplacer.int
- Put the text files and this html file into your
UnrealTournament\help directory or somewhere else.
- To use WORM, set up your
configuration in the mod menu (see below) then choose
"**WORMutator**" as your mutator when starting
a game.
- If you are playing a multiplayer
game, open UnrealTournament.ini (its in the system
directory) and do a search for ServerPackages. Add
WORMreplacer and whatever packages you plan to use
weapons out of at the end of the list. (Note: multiplayer
has never been tested)
III. The Mod Menu
- Weapons:
- use the lists to choose what you want to replace
the weapons with.
- pickups are filtered out of slots 1 & 2.
- defaults button resets them to the UT defaults.
- choose NONE to have nothing in a slot.
- Ammo Toggles:
- Toggle if ammo for the given weapons spawns or
not.
- the 2 buttons are self explanatory.
- Pickups Setup:
- use the lists to choose what you want to replace
what with
- weapons are filtered out of these lists
- defaults button resets them to the UT defaults.
- choose NONE to have nothing in a slot.
- Options:
- Renumber Weapons= When checked weapons will
reorganize themselves so there is one weapon per
Inventory slot (except the sniper/redeemer slot
which will contain 2).
- Force Respawn= Forces certain items which
normally won't respawn to respawn at the default
respawn rate of 30 seconds.
- No Pickup Rotation= Stops all rotating pickups
from rotating. An aesthetic preference.
- Add Item button= put a pickup or weapon string in
the blank and push the button to add it to the
list. You must put them in as
Packagename.ItemName. Only pickups(includes ammo)
and weapons will be accepted, so this means you
can't put weird stuff like wooden boxes in. Also,
you must close the window and reopen it before
the new weapons/pickups will show up. All working
UT and Unreal items have already been added. See
summons.txt for mod strings.
IV. Known Bugs
- You have to close and re-open the mod menu
before added list items show up.
- Problematic Weapons:
- U4eT's M16 (U4eT.m16) doesn't work
due to the fact it requires 2 seperate ammo
pickups
- UT's Chainsaw (botpack.chainsaw)
& Impact Hammer (botpack.impacthammer) do not
work in slot 2.
