INTRODUCTION
This was originally intened to be a voice pack of the character Hicks from the movie Aliens. Realizing that he didn't say much throughout the movie, I instead made this a generic "Michael Biehn voice pack". I've been simultaneously working on several voice packs of characters from the Alien films; in all: Hicks, Ripley, Bishop, Apone and Johner. If and when Unreal Tournament 2003 finally comes out, I'll port these voice packs over. I have a table below of all the movies from which I recorded the samples for this pack. I don't know very mcuh about sound recording and editing, so the quality of many of the samples probably aren't as good as they should be. For a long while I debated over what sample rate the .WAV files should be, either 11KHz or 22KHz. I made a test vpack with 11KHz samples and found them harder to understand under all the other sound effects and music that went on in the game. Switching to 22KHz was an improvement but, of course, made the pack awefully large (over 8 Megabytes). Seeing as how computers these days typicaly have RAM in the triple digits, and gamers haveing some mighty strong rigs, I thought this wouldn't be a problem. :-)

CREDITS
Thanks go out to
Rainecloud for "The Definitive Voicepack Tutorial, For UNREALED 2.0. (Revised Version)", and Areala and [ZDB]Stoerenfried for their UT voice pack tweaking guide. I find UnrealEd to be daunting and these tutorials made it very simple to make the voice pack. I'd also like to thank the folks at GoldWave and CyberLink for making some awesome sound editing and DVD player software.
